Gautamiputra Satakarni—Director Krish’s Magnum Opus portraying Balakrishna as Satakarni, ruler of Satavahana Empire has hit the screens today. It opened to packed houses with fans waiting to see his gallantry on screen.
The story of a Telugu King who has a dream of uniting all the Kingdoms into one to avoid wars. Balakrishna lived up to the expectations with his colossal acting and the coherent dialogue delivery. A change over was much needed for this role but nevertheless, Balayya Babu’s presence overruled it.
HemaMalini as Gautami, mother of Satakarni added glory to the role. Shriya as his wife Vashistha Devi had an aesthetic presence and she balanced both beauty and performance on an equivalent scale.
The roles comprising of Satakarni’s clan were good. The bonding between Mother and Son, love between the lead roles were established in an artistic way. Background musiq by Chirantan Bhatt was extraordinary while the songs were of mediocre level. Cinematography by Gnanashekhar takes the precedence by presenting you with a picturesque visuals.
First half of the movie is excellent with interval bang inculcating the expectations. Dialogue writer Saimadhav Burra penned many worthy dialogues. Though second half starts on a good note, looses out the interest in the latter part thus giving you an unvarying climax.
On one note, one man show by Balayya Babu..You may watch it for him.
Please watch it in theaters…KILL PIRACY…
